"The primary merit for the picture is to be a feast for the eyes." Delacroix “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” - Steve Jobs "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." –Dr. Albert Einstein "Wonder is comes from the awareness of ignorance of religious mass"

The Noun Project
The Noun Project is a simply and thoughtfully designed collection of icons and symbols that aim to “enhance the world’s visual language.” The site is as simple and elegant as the project — I love their treatment of the instant search. The one-color, vector, scalable icons are downloadable for free, and most appear to be licensed through public domain (although the site warns that some are subject to copyright). It’s pretty comprehensive, and growing – everything from “pedestrian” to “fish cleaning” to “donut” is available and searchable by name or category. As of today, the collection contains over 600 icons.
