- Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection pays tribute to the marque's close association with the pioneers of aviation. Taking the most driver-orientated car in the Phantom family as our canvas, we have created a bespoke car that celebrates the design and craftsmanship of the Supermarine S6B. Our Bespoke team have created visual cues that evoke the golden age of flight - from the smallest details to the biggest statements in the design.
- Charles Stewart Rolls earned his reputation as a racing driver before turning his attention to selling motor cars. He worked hard to establish Rolls-Royce's reputation and helped create what became known as 'the best car in the world'. He then pursued his passion for aviation, first in balloons before moving on to early aircraft. The second British holder of an aviator's licence and the first to achieve a non-stop double-crossing of the English Channel, his pioneering spirit inspired Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection.
- Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection's sporting credentials are evident at first glance. Inspired by the Phantom II Continental of the 1930s, Phantom Coupé is a celebration of sporting style and glamour that combines classic proportions and breathtaking detailing. The Aviator Collection takes the powerful presence of Phantom Coupé to another level.
- Phantom's driving dynamics are underlined visually by a Coupé body style. Changes to the powertrain and a new 8-speed gearbox add to the driving pleasure and the V12 Engine offers over 90% of power in reserve at 70mph for effortless acceleration and a top speed of 155mph. Engaging the 'S' button adds further enjoyment to the driving dynamics by holding each gear longer, increasing the rate of acceleration.
- The promise of effortless performance suggested by the car's fluid lines is delivered on as soon as you sit in the driver's seat. All the materials have been chosen to suggest a cockpit theme - the wide expanses of soft full grain leather and veneered mahogany are offset by polished aluminium finishing on the armrests, transmission tunnel and cup holder.
- Look closer and discover how our Bespoke team has evoked an authentic aviation ambiance. The aviation grade Thommen clock is normally only found in fighter jets and is integrated with the car's electronics. The dashboard dials carry this design through on the black and white needles with blood orange tips. Another detail, the aluminium transmission tunnel, was directly inspired by the Schneider Trophy-winning Supermarine S6B. In the glove box you will find a quote from Charles Stewart Rolls himself.
- The exterior paint colour, Aviator Grey, was created specially for the Collection. Our Bespoke team have used an aviation-style combination of matt and polished finishes to highlight the iconic grille and bonnet. Fully LED front light clusters create a striking modern look that is instantly recognisable day or night with a glowing daytime running bar through the centre of the headlight. The 21" wheels also feature a matt paint finish exclusive to the Aviator Collection.
- The powerful profile and low-slung carriage give an instant impression of strength from every angle. This purposeful look is accented by the visible twin exhausts and enhanced by the matt finish grille surround that makes the bonnet appear longer. The design captures the essence of its effortless driving dynamics. Rolls-Royce motor cars are renowned for their 'magic carpet ride' and Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection is no exception - press the accelerator and watch the world glide by.
"The primary merit for the picture is to be a feast for the eyes." Delacroix “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” - Steve Jobs "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." –Dr. Albert Einstein "Wonder is comes from the awareness of ignorance of religious mass"
